Our Commitment to a Sustainable Future
Across the Escape the Ordinary Collection, sustainability is a core value, not a trend. We believe true luxury is conscious, and we're dedicated to creating exceptional stays that are also kind to the planet.
At Lola
Waste Reduction: We've saved an entire household's worth of goods from landfill by curating our space with vintage and upcycled decor, giving Lola its unique character.
Conscious Consumption: We support local artisans by providing our own small-batch chocolate and coffee, and use eco-friendly products like Yarn toilet paper (supporting First Nations education).
Local Ecosystems: We connect you with our region by featuring Australian native plants and providing all-natural body products that protect local biodiversity.
At The Beach Box
Waste Reduction: We've preserved and restored a classic Mornington Peninsula beach box rather than building new, keeping its heritage character alive.
Local Ecosystems: Being directly on Moondah Beach, we're especially mindful of coastal biodiversity — using all-natural, reef- and marine-safe body products. Guests take all rubbish with them and dispose of it in the council bins provided, leaving no trace on the beach.
At Gathering Shores
Conscious Consumption: Yarn toilet paper — made in Australia, 100% recycled, with 50% of profits donated to First Nations education and causes. Locally sourced Yarra Valley tea.
Local Ecosystems: Bushwalking and wildlife information handouts, and books on the local national parks, landscape, food, and culture, restocked regularly from the Dromana visitor centre.
Community: Gathering Shores is proud to open its doors to local community groups and events throughout the year.
